Week of January 30th:
Monday: Today I will present a major project for this course. Students will be given specific directions and a time line for the completion of the project. This project, titled Mi Mes Favorito, will incorporate everything we have learned in this course since the first day of the trimester. A rubric will be sent home this evening. Students are encouraged not to wait until Super Bowl Sunday to begin this project as it is a major grade for the marking period. Further, students will learn how to type the special characters and accent marks in Spanish. This project will be due NEXT MONDAY, FEB. 6th.
Tuesday: Today students will be going to the computer lab to work on their projects and practice typing in Spanish (which is more difficult than typing the English language because of the special accent marks and characters).
Wednesday: Today students will be given some class time to work on their projects. But, I am also going to have a little talk with them about their progress so far in Spanish class and show them how to keep track of their grades. Finally, students will be filling out self-evaluations today (so that I can compare them with my notes in preparation for parent/teacher conferences) next week.
Thursday: Students will be learning weather expressions today! There will be a worksheet for homework tonight. The worksheet will not take students long to complete as I want them to be focusing on their project this week.
Friday: Mi Mes Favorito Projects are due Monday! Today, we will be reviewing weather expressions in Spanish. There will be a short worksheet at the end of the hour. The worksheet should not take students long to complete as I know they will want some time this weekend to finish their projects.
Have a great week Clippers!
